Home FriesServes 2 These are basically fried sliced potatoes (also known as country fries), with a little help from onions and garlic. Great to serve with eggs and bacon for a hearty American breakfast, or served with wurst and kraut for a German lunch.
If you have no cooked potatoes, simply cook 2 whole potatoes in the microwave for about 8 minutes on high, or until done. Or boil quartered potatoes for 20 minutes and drain well. Meanwhile, cut the onion into chunks and fry in a little olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and blend well. Halve the potatoes lengthwise, then slice into 1/4” [.75 cm] slices. Place into the pan, moving the onions and garlic aside as much as possible. |
