Other Cakes is a category which includes special occasion cakes, genoise, and cup cakes.    In here you will find the more European types of cakes like the Queen of Sheba, as well as special occasion cakes like the Yule Log made at Christmas time.

This category also includes a recipe for cup cakes, which are simply a small cake for a single person. These are wonderful for children and great for picnics because you need no serving utensils and they are normally eaten by hand without the need for plates and forks. There is only one recipe included here for cupcakes, but if you like the idea, any of the layer cakes can be made into cupcakes by pouring the batter (3/4 full) into paper-lined muffin tins. Frost with the corresponding frosting.
