This recipe is for plain muffins and can be used as a base to make your favorite.  Simply add spices, flavorings, nuts, dried fruit as desired.

Preheat oven to 400°F [205°C], prepare pans by greasing or lining with paper cups.

Blend thoroughly the butter & sugar. Beat in the eggs & then the milk.
Carefully fold in the flour taking care not to overmix.
Spoon into pans & bake for 20-25 minutes.
