Preheat oven to 350F [175C].
Mix dry ingredients (flour, soda, nutmeg) together and set aside
Blend butter and sugars well, then beat in the egg.
Add dry ingredients, mashed banana, milk and nuts; stir until well mixed.
Spoon into muffin cups (cups will be almost full).
Top each muffin with a few chopped nuts, using all the remaining nuts.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350F [175C] until deep golden brown.
